Here is a really useful feature in macOS Ventura in relation to screenshots. For all I know it might have been in previous versions but I’ve never noticed it. Previously, screenshots would simply go into a designated screenshot folder. In my case it was in my Dropbox account. Now they appear on your desktop for a short period whilst you decide what to do with them. A very helpful development.
Click on the screenshot as soon as it has been taken and you will see that it now contains a Share Sheet icon. It’s the square box with the vertical arrow in the top right hand corner of the menu bar on the screenshot. This gives you a number of options for dealing with the screenshot. These include sending it by Mail or Messages or adding to Notes or Reminders together with various other options.
This is particularly useful in terms of sending a quick screenshot by email. There’s no need to find the screenshot manually and then add it to an email.
You can also annotate it using the tools in Preview. Click on the screenshot and open it from wherever it is filed. It automatically opens in Preview for you to edit using Preview’s tools.
